Overview

In this role you will lead tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of real estate and infrastructure clients within a fast-growing KPMG team. You will collaborate with cross-functional colleagues and mentors to deliver high-quality tax solutions, manage client relationships, and support business development. The role combines technical tax advisory with hands-on delivery, including complex property structures and regulatory investigations. This is an opportunity to shape services for a diverse client base and grow with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive tax compliance and advisory for a portfolio of real estate and infrastructure clients
  • Final review corporation tax computations and returns for complex structures (partnerships, property unit trusts, REITs)
  • Final review QIPs calculations, forecasts and client communications
  • Lead tax accounting and provisions work, including tax disclosures and deferred tax for audits (IFRS and UK GAAP)
  • Support HMRC enquiries, draft analyses, and liaise with HMRC to resolve queries
  • Review CIR calculations and prepare associated filings
  • Lead anti-hybrid rule reviews and ensure compliance
  • Independently run client meetings and calls
  • Create and grow a portfolio of long-term client relationships
  • Collaborate with audit, deals, and accounting to provide integrated solutions
  • Mentor and develop junior team members and their professional growth
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative/market developments in real estate and infrastructure
  • Initiate and oversee business development initiatives

Key requirements

  • Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent)
  • Career drive in fast-growing Alternatives tax team
  • Track record of delivering high-quality corporate tax advisory and compliance
  • Real estate and infrastructure experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to lead delivery, manage deadlines, and communicate under pressure
  • Strong UK corporation tax knowledge and ability to simplify complex rules
  • Understanding of CIR, anti-hybrids, REITs, QIPs
  • Strong project management, delegation and coaching skills
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in tax and ability to apply them
  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g. Alphatax, CCH) and Excel/MS Office
