Overview

In this EC&I Designer role you will deliver high-integrity electrical, control and instrumentation design solutions for safety-critical nuclear operations. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory, quality and safety requirements, supporting assurance activities and project delivery. The position emphasizes collaboration with clients, regulators and suppliers, within a flexible, hybrid structure across multiple sites. You’ll help drive safe, compliant, efficient systems in a regulated environment, contributing to decommissioning and operational programmes.

Responsibilities

  • Produce detailed EC&I designs and drawings that meet standards
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, safety case teams and commissioning teams
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety standards, regulatory requirements and internal procedures
  • Engage with clients, regulators and suppliers to resolve technical queries
  • Support assurance activities and engineering delivery across operational and decommissioning programmes

Key requirements

  • Delivering safety-related EC&I system design within a regulated industry
  • Applying IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 functional safety standards
  • Working across the nuclear functional safety lifecycle, including SIL determination and verification
