Overview

In this Principal Data Scientist role, you design, build, and deploy scalable AI solutions that move beyond prototypes into production use within LSEG Workspace for financial professionals. You combine NLP/LLM expertise with strong Python engineering to ship reliable models and influence product roadmaps. You’ll own delivery timelines, ensure production-grade quality, and collaborate across engineering and business teams to deliver AI-enabled insights at scale. This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership position focused on real-world AI solutions that empower decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of production-ready AI solutions (design, build, test, deploy)
• Apply NLP and LLM methods to solve real-world problems with performance and reliability in mind
• Continuously improve model quality via tuning and production feedback
• Evaluate third-party AI solutions for performance, scalability and production integration
• Write and maintain production-grade Python code following engineering and ML best practices
• Collaborate with engineering and business partners to define requirements and drive AI product delivery

Key requirements

• Extensive hands-on NLP/LLM experience with production models
• Strong Python skills with OO design and ML libraries (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-Learn)
• Solid probability and statistical modeling understanding
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or AWS) and scalable deployment practices
• Proven ability to set and uphold coding and model evaluation standards for production
• Excellent communication to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical audiences
