Senior to Associate Fire Engineer

Overview

In this role you will join a London-based Fire Engineering team to deliver fire strategies, design and review across diverse buildings. You’ll work on cladding and remediation projects, risk assessments, and safety case reports, with opportunities to mentor and influence project delivery. The role supports growth within a small, collaborative team and offers clear progression toward senior levels. This is a hands-on position that combines technical problem solving with client-facing work to advance building safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fire strategies and retrospective fire strategies across a range of buildings and sectors
• Deliver fire engineering design for cladding and compartmentation remediation projects
• Undertake qualitative design reviews as part of wider project design teams
• Provide specialist technical advice to clients, colleagues and project teams
• Develop scopes for contractors covering internal and external opening-up works
• Attend sites with contractors to undertake intrusive investigations
• Contribute to the delivery and development of fire engineering projects across the wider business

Key requirements

• BEng or MSc in Fire Engineering or closely related discipline (ideal)
• Over four years’ professional experience within a fire engineering consultancy environment
• Strong experience delivering fire strategies and fire engineering design
• IFE membership at Technician grade or above
• Strong technical knowledge and professional judgment for complex projects
• Willingness to continue developing professionally (CEng progression encouraged)
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
