Overview
Senior Derivatives lawyer ready to work in a collaborative, market-facing team at Fieldfisher. You will handle complex derivatives transactions from drafting to closing, advising on regulatory aspects and industry opinions. You’ll contribute to the growth of the derivatives practice while liaising with clients and internal stakeholders. This role combines technical depth with cross‑office collaboration and development opportunities in a dynamic European firm.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate derivatives documentation and ancillary agreements
- Manage derivative transactions end-to-end with autonomy (loan hedging, deal-contingent, structured repo)
- Advise on derivatives across asset classes and transaction types
- Engage with clients, counterparties and internal teams to deliver pragmatic solutions
- Draft or analyze industry opinions and assist in regulatory framework advice
- Contribute to development of the derivatives practice and expand into new areas
- Collaborate with colleagues across the team and maintain a strong team-focused approach
Key requirements
- 4+ years’ PQE
- Trained at a well-regarded City or international law firm
- Strong technical understanding of derivatives (products, markets, regulation)
- Proven experience drafting/negotiating derivatives documentation and managing transactions end-to-end
- Willingness to work across different derivatives asset classes
- Demonstrated ability to liaise directly with clients and counterparties
- Proactive team player with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
