Overview

In this HR Advisor role you will provide practical guidance across a busy generalist HR function within a wealth and asset management firm. You will work closely with line managers to manage employee relations, performance, recruitment, onboarding, and payroll processes. The position offers hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home) and scope to participate in HR projects. You will maintain HR records and systems with attention to detail in a collaborative team. This is a hands-on role with meaningful impact on people operations and policy adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Advise line managers on employee relations issues, policy guidance, performance management, absence management, return-to-work processes, and occupational health referrals
  • Advise on family-friendly policies (maternity, paternity, shared parental leave)
  • Update and enforce HR policies; ensure adherence across the business
  • Support performance management practices including objective setting and PIPs; manage probationers/extension cases
  • Produce HR analytics and reports for leadership and board audiences; track headcount, turnover, recruitment costs, and remuneration data
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment, liaise with agencies, manage PSL/templates, organize inductions
  • Coordinate training bookings (external/internal) and maintain qualification records
  • Maintain HRIS, manage documentation updates (job descriptions, org charts), and respond to HR inbox
  • Support remuneration processes and prepare incentive-related letters; assist with ad-hoc duties
  • Contribute to HR projects and new initiatives; assist with ad-hoc reporting
  • Handle ad-hoc HR reporting and intranet updates

Key requirements

  • HR experience in financial or professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law; CIPD Level 5+ or equivalent
  • Discreet, self-starter with attention to detail and team spirit
  • Flexible, hands-on generalist with experience across BAU and projects
