Overview
In this role you will manage the commercial performance of a high-profile civil/infrastructure project in London, ensuring cost control, reporting and contract administration under NEC frameworks. You will work closely with delivery, engineering and supply-chain partners to align commercial goals with the project timetable. The position offers hands-on financial governance and mentorship within the commercial team, contributing to project success and client relations. Responsibilities
- Commercial management of NEC3/NEC4 contracts from start to final account
- Oversee subcontractor packages including valuations, changes, claims and negotiations
- Prepare and present cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates to project leadership
- Active management of compensation events, early warnings and change processes
- Support and mentor other commercial team members on the project
- Collaborate with operational teams to align commercial performance with programme
- Maintain accurate records, audit trails and compliant commercial documentation
- Develop strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Maintain a visible on-site presence to support project and stakeholder requirements
Key requirements
- Proven background in Quantity Surveying on live projects
- Civil and/or electrical project experience
- Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
- Degree, HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
- Good working capability in Excel (pivot tables and lookups)
