Mechanical Engineer – Building Services

Overview

In this role you will contribute to mechanical building services design within a multidisciplinary team at AECOM Glasgow. You will work on UK-based MoD Defence sector projects, delivering designs that meet time, quality and budget targets. You will collaborate across disciplines to coordinate design delivery and liaise with clients and contractors. Responsibilities

• Develop specifications, design drawings and calculations through the RIBA work Stages
• Provide technical services to support on-time, quality project delivery
• Participate in tender processes and respond to queries; review returns
• Meet client requirements and maintain effective communication with stakeholders
• Perform tasks with minimal direction and coordinate with the multi-discipline design team
• Attend site surveys and client meetings to secure concurrence
• Ensure compliance with statutory/regulatory authorities and obtain necessary approvals
• Follow AECOM’s Safety Health and Environment Policy and undertake CDM designer risk assessments
• Liaise with clients, professional organisations, contractors, suppliers and other designers

Key requirements

• Honors Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering
• 3 years post-graduate work experience in a similar consultancy
• British National with 5 years unbroken residency for security clearance
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites
• UK Passport and ability to obtain clearance to travel abroad
• Ability to attend overnight surveys across the UK and abroad
• Experience in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience in IES Design Software
