Overview
In this role you lead a community-based team within SCAMHS to ensure safe, high‑quality care for young people and families. You’ll work closely with clinical leads to drive governance, staffing, and development, while collaborating across primary, secondary, and VCSE partners. The post emphasizes values‑based leadership, staff support, and service improvement within CFYP pathways. This is an opportunity to shape community mental health delivery and outcomes in East Suffolk.

Responsibilities
- Provide visible, values-based leadership and model best practice within the service
- Manage and support the team to ensure staff are trained, informed and competent
- Establish robust supervision, appraisal, objectives, and personal development processes
- Allocate and oversee caseloads to ensure safe practice and efficient use of resources
- Maintain safe staffing levels within agreed budgets and monitor performance against Trust objectives
- Promote a person-centred approach involving service users, families and carers in care planning and delivery
Key requirements
- Nursing degree or equivalent, HCPC registered, or Dip SW/Dip OT
- Senior clinical experience including staff management/supervision
- Experience in a multi-disciplinary team and leadership in a mental health care setting (mentoring)
- Competent treatment and care planning skills; analytical and decision-making abilities
- Understanding of local and national guidelines, including NICE
- Current UK professional registration and eligibility for sponsorship if applicable
