Overview

In this role you will provide personal medical services to the registered population and drive high-quality, patient-centered care across multiple sites. You will contribute to digital clinical pathways and support service development within a forward-thinking primary care group. You’ll supervise and mentor junior clinicians and trainees, while upholding safe practices and CQC standards. This position offers opportunities to shape clinical procedures, work with cross-site teams, and help grow digital healthcare delivery in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal medical services in line with PMS/GMS/APMS contracts across multiple practices
  • Deliver patient-centred consultations and maintain high standards of care
  • Contribute to clinical policy updates and ensure CQC compliance
  • Develop and support digital clinical pathways for timely, high-quality patient care
  • Provide daily clinical supervision to ACPs, NPs, GP trainees, and other staff; allocate additional supervision as needed
  • Respond quickly to protect patient safety in line with whistleblowing policies
  • Work within the Job Plan’s session structure and balance workload across sites
  • Participate in clinical audit, education, and training for staff and trainees
  • Engage with digital practice management systems and multi-site collaboration

Key requirements

  • Fully registered with the GMC
  • General Practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
  • On a PCT Medical Performers List
  • Enhanced DBS Check with DBS Update Service if applicable
  • Current BLS / First Aid Certificate
  • Level 3 Child Protection Training Certificate
  • Experience in UK general practice
  • Understanding of patient demand in deprived areas
  • Experience in chronic disease management
  • Experience teaching GP registrars and other staff
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to develop and influence clinical procedures and protocols
  • Proficient IT skills and willingness to use EMIS Web and practice IT systems
  • Willingness to work at multiple sites and develop digital healthcare delivery
