Overview

In this role you will join Deloitte’s Insurance Audit Group as a Director, overseeing field audits and client relationships. You will supervise audit teams, drive quality and methodological improvements, and contribute to business development across UK and international clients. The position offers exposure to high-profile insurers and brokers while shaping innovative, independent audit practices. This is a strategic leadership role that blends technical excellence with team development and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Field manage audit engagements, including client relationships and coaching audit teams
• Supervise teams to deliver engagements per Deloitte methodology and deadlines
• Drive continuous improvement of audit methodology
• Support business development campaigns and tenders with clients
• Lead on assurance projects leveraging accounting, controls and regulatory knowledge
• Participate in practice management activities, including internal training and staff development
• Foster wellbeing and inclusive team culture within the Insurance Team

Key requirements

• Experienced Auditor with ACA, ACCA, CA, ICAS or equivalent
• Insurance sector experience with external audits and assurance engagements managing mid-to-large engagements and teams
• Knowledge of auditing techniques and standards (risk assessment, scoping, testing, conclusions)
• Experience field managing audit engagements and teams
• Collaborative approach and good team player
• Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills for engagement at all levels
• Analytical, enquiring mindset with initiative and problem-solving ability
