Overview
As an Internal Audit Manager in Business Risk Services, you own key assignments for FTSE100/250 clients and major organisations, delivering tailored audit and risk advisory work. You’ll manage client relationships, oversee planning, resourcing, budgeting and reporting, and lead stakeholder discussions. Your work helps clients strengthen controls, governance, and assurance. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of allocated assignments
- Manage a portfolio of existing client relationships and maintain strong working ties with clients and colleagues
- Schedule and resource assignments; agree terms of reference/audit planning with clients
- Delegate tasks and ensure documentation supports key decisions
- Agree and monitor budgets; manage invoices and cash collection
- Review work programmes and provide coaching feedback on papers
- Ensure audit scope is met and monitor emerging issues
- Attend audit committee meetings and lead client liaison meetings
- Support Directors/Partners in client proposals and pitches for new opportunities
Key requirements
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA or IIA)
- Experience managing UK internal audit and risk advisory projects
- Experience preparing and delivering presentations
- Experience using risk and control software and Microsoft packages
- Flexibility to travel to client premises
- Ability to build internal networks across geographies and client service boundaries
