Overview
As a Civil Engineer at Arup, you will design and deliver civil solutions across Water, Energy and Site Development. You will join a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team serving clients across the UK with a strong sustainability focus. You’ll work on major infrastructure frameworks and combine technical excellence with thoughtful stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver civil engineering solutions across Water, Energy and Site Development sectors
- Lead projects, workstreams or teams for senior roles; coordinate tasks and stakeholders
- Contribute to project delivery through planning, technical leadership and effective collaboration
- Apply design standards and regulatory requirements; manage planning and approvals processes
- Support clients with sustainable and value-driven decision making
- Mentor and develop junior colleagues where applicable
- Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate civil designs with broader projects
- Utilize CAD and other design tools to develop robust civil solutions
Key requirements
- Experience designing and delivering civil engineering solutions with a strong technical foundation
- Solid knowledge of design standards, legislation, and industry guidance
- Understanding of statutory approvals, planning processes, stakeholder engagement, and technical approvals
- For senior roles: project/workstream leadership and people development experience
- Experience in Water, Energy or Site Development sectors preferred, willingness to transition between markets
- Strong communication and teamwork
