Senior Cost Consultant

Overview

As Senior Cost Consultant in Arcadis Places, you lead cost management across major UK projects, collaborating with client teams and contractors on site. You’ll steer multiple workstreams, coach junior colleagues, and ensure accurate, compliant cost outcomes within budgets and deadlines. This role blends technical cost expertise with stakeholder leadership to deliver sustainable, high-quality commercial results for complex developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead cost management delivery for small/medium developments or major components of larger programmes
• Manage budgets, reports and forecasts; track variances to control costs
• Oversee multiple workstreams or significant elements of programmes and ensure timely delivery
• Site-based engagement (2–3 days/week) with contractors and client teams to secure quality outcomes
• Provide risk, compliance and governance guidance aligned with Arcadis processes
• Present project risks/issues to senior management to mitigate impact
• Analyse data to identify trends and inform cost and commercial decisions
• Share knowledge and drive service improvements and innovation
• Coach and mentor junior team members to raise skill levels and service quality
• Lead projects from inception to completion and manage client relationships at senior level

Key requirements
