Overview

In this role you advise on partnership structure, governance and constitutional matters within a leading global law firm. You will work with senior leaders to shape governance, regulatory compliance and strategic initiatives, spanning project management and cross‑functional collaboration. The role combines high‑level legal advisory work with stakeholder engagement and practical problem solving. You will help manage risk, drive policy development and contribute to significant strategic projects that shape the firm’s future.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on partnership structure, governance framework and constitutional arrangements
  • Support partner lifecycle matters and international movements
  • Provide legal input on structural changes and regulatory considerations
  • Prepare advice, briefings and reports for senior leadership and governance bodies
  • Act as liaison between General Counsel, Legal Department, company secretarial and Partnership Accounting teams
  • Support management of the firm’s legal affairs and strategic initiatives
  • Guide partners, lawyers and business services on governance matters
  • Assist with professional indemnity insurance renewal and broker engagement
  • Contribute to risk management, policy development, training and continuous improvement projects
  • Support strategic projects including constitutional amendments, office openings and network developments
  • Conduct legal research and implement policies and procedures across the firm

Key requirements

  • Qualified lawyer, ideally from a leading commercial law firm
  • Experience in an international legal or professional services environment
  • Strong technical legal skills with good commercial judgement
  • Ability to interpret complex issues and give practical advice
  • Excellent drafting and senior stakeholder communication skills
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities
  • Attention to detail with a pragmatic, commercial outlook
  • Diplomatic and credible when interacting with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive, resilient and collaborative approach in a fast‑paced setting
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and finding better ways of working
  • Experience or knowledge of partnership law, employment matters, business tax, or solicitor regulatory framework in England & Wales advantageous
