In this role you drive digital electronics initiatives within a leading communications technology company. You will contribute to architecture, specify technical requirements, and provide technical leadership on projects spanning software, signal processing, AI, RF, and testing. The position blends hands-on engineering with client-facing consultancy, leveraging in-house prototyping and testing facilities. You will work on varied, mission-driven projects and may take on people-mentorship responsibilities as you grow. Responsibilities
- Define technical specifications and contribute to system architecture
- Provide technical leadership on communications-focused projects
- Work across software, signal processing, AI, and RF test activities
- Engage with clients to understand requirements and deliver solutions
- Collaborate with in-house resources for prototyping, EMC testing, and testing chambers
- Possibly mentor teammates and contribute to career development programs
Key requirements
- Strong electronics fundamentals and advanced understanding of electronics theory
- Extensive circuit design experience including high-speed design and FPGA design/verification
- Experience with data throughput and power optimization on SoCs/FPGA/embedded processors
- Embedded interconnects such as DDR4, QSPI, PCIe, JESD204
- ECAD tools with PCB layout proficiency (ideally Altium Designer)
- C and Python on Linux for embedded development
- Verilog or VHDL for digital design
- DSP experience applied to RF
- Consultancy experience or client-facing project experience (advantageous)
- Security clearance or defence project experience (desirable)
- PhD-level academic background ideal
- Onsite role with some remote work possible with manager’s consent
