Overview

In this role you will join a national law firm’s Health & Care Regulatory team in Bristol to handle a varied caseload in health and social care regulatory matters. You will support both public and independent sector clients, spanning advisory, litigation, and inquest-focused work, within a collaborative, national team. The position blends contentious and non-contentious elements, offering opportunities to shape regulatory outcomes and contribute to BD. This is a chance to advance specialist expertise in a meaningful, high-impact area of health law.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of advisory and litigation matters
  • Advocacy at inquests, Court of Protection hearings and Tribunals
  • Advise on human rights, safeguarding, mental health, patient safety and regulatory issues
  • Support clients through CQC/HSE inspections and enforcement
  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to business development
  • Collaborate within a large, supportive national team

Key requirements

  • 3+ years PQE in health and social care law (or related regulatory experience)
  • Experience supporting clients in the lead up to and during inquests
  • Strong technical skills and a practical, commercial approach
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence managing matters independently while working within a team
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Enthusiasm for developing expertise and taking on new challenges
