Overview

In this Internal Audit role, you independently assess the firm’s internal control structure and governance processes to mitigate risk. You’ll work across business and technology lines to monitor controls, support management in implementing improvements, and contribute to a strong control culture. You’ll engage with cross-functional teams and executives to challenge risk claims and enhance audit techniques. This role offers exposure to EU consumer regulation and global operations, with a focus on impactful control solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting for audits
  • Execute audit testing and supervise junior team members
  • Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make improvement recommendations
  • Prepare audit conclusions and present findings to IA management and clients
  • Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution
  • Support continuous monitoring of market, regulatory events, and tech updates
  • Contribute to department-wide initiatives to improve IA processes and infrastructure
  • Communicate on the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls

Key requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in internal audit, external audit, or related control function
  • Strong understanding of EU consumer and depositor protection regulation across product lifecycle
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ICAEW, ICAS, CFA) a plus
  • Experience with Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence is a plus
  • Experience managing integrated business and technology audit engagements/projects
  • Team-oriented with ownership and accountability
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
