Overview

In this role you lead pressure systems compliance and structural integrity activities for a critical HPC project. You act as a technical authority to ensure safe design, manufacture, installation and compliance, coordinating with project teams, regulators, and suppliers. You will shape how regulatory and structural requirements are implemented across the project lifecycle, delivering safe, high-quality outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong impact on nuclear safety and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pressure systems compliance requirements across the allocated project scope
  • Assess structural integrity requirements for safety-critical pressure systems
  • Apply RCC-M, ASME and relevant pressure equipment requirements
  • Ensure regulatory and structural integrity requirements are properly implemented
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, regulators and supply chain partners
  • Review pressure equipment manufacture, installation and conformity assessment activities
  • Provide technical decisions on pressure compliance issues within delegated authority
  • Maintain compliance documentation, processes and supporting technical requirements
  • Interface with international suppliers and support occasional European project travel
  • Support project delivery while maintaining nuclear safety and quality requirements

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience with pressure systems manufacture, installation or structural integrity
  • Experience in nuclear, power generation, oil and gas environments
  • Knowledge of RCC-M or ASME pressure equipment design requirements
  • Understanding of pressure systems compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management across multidisciplinary and matrix organisations
  • Experience working with regulators, suppliers and engineering organisations
  • Strong technical judgement and ability to resolve complex issues
  • Excellent communication skills with strong influencing capability
  • Chartered Engineer status or progress towards professional registration advantageous
