Overview

In this role you lead mechanical design within an in-house, multidisciplinary team to deliver projects from scoping through implementation. You ensure compliance with client specs and regulatory standards while prioritizing low-carbon solutions. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, manage design deliverables, and take responsibility as design lead on allocated projects. Responsibilities

  • Oversee design aspects from inception to implementation
  • Ensure compliance with client specifications and regulatory standards
  • Develop design deliverables
  • Perform checking and approval processes
  • Arrange procurement of goods and services
  • Prepare work scope estimates/quotations
  • Assemble contract works information documents
  • Consider health, safety, quality and environmental matters
  • Liaise with key project stakeholders
  • Implement project change control and programme requirements
  • Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects

Key requirements

  • Degree/HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (formatting: degree-level requirement)
  • Experience in a multidiscipline design team
  • Experience across all design stages is highly desirable
  • Design management experience is highly desirable
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Full UK Driving Licence
