Overview
In this role you will help underwriters manage and oversee Beazley’s delegated authorities, including third-party binders, service providers and non-Lloyd’s arrangements. You will support continuous improvement, ensure compliance and consistent processes, and coordinate audits and due diligence. You will lead the Delegated Operations team, driving efficiency and risk management across delegated underwriting. Responsibilities
- Line management of the Delegated Operations team with regular check-ins and appraisals
- Train and develop team members; support career progression
- Ensure accurate processing of designated work and adherence to SLAs
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency; review processes for best practice
- Coordinate audit planning and delivery for coverholders and DCAs; liaise with underwriters, claims, brokers and external auditors
- Manage due diligence for delegated UW arrangements (new/renewals) including background checks and controls
- Oversee data management and risk/premium systems data entry; support data quality and regulatory compliance
- Implement and monitor delegated arrangement monitoring activities (premium, binder performance, credit control)
- Coordinate delegated UW compliance activities and maintain documentation for live authorities
- Prepare management reporting and present to committees; represent Beazley at market meetings
- Run reports, escalate issues, and support ad hoc queries and projects
- Ensure Lloyd’s regulations and regulatory rules are embedded in delegated activities
- Support management in governance, risk, and assurance initiatives
- Highlight resource, data, or reporting gaps and communicate them to leadership
- Handle Lloyd’s queries and improvements within the delegated space
Key requirements
- Lloyd’s insurance environment experience
- Knowledge or experience of delegated business
- Audit knowledge or experience beneficial
- Previous administrative experience
- Previous people management experience
- Excellent organizational and written/verbal communication skills
- Strong data analysis and ability to work with risk and premium systems
- Proficiency in MS Office; intermediate Excel, Word, PowerPoint
