Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will design, develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes to ensure high-quality production. You’ll work within Manufacturing Engineering to improve efficiency, reliability, and product lifecycle performance. The role supports NPI and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will influence manufacturing quality and cost through process optimization and tooling solutions. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-critical products in a global, standards-based environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings, and procedures to ensure consistent product quality
  • Design, implement, and support manufacturing equipment and tooling solutions
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including design reviews and on-time, on-budget product releases
  • Investigate manufacturing defects and process issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Drive continuous improvement and Operational Excellence (OpEx) initiatives across manufacturing operations
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams while supporting the development of Manufacturing Engineering Technicians

Key requirements

  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, engineering principles, product development, and project management
  • Hands-on experience of mechanical assembly including metalwork, circuit card integration, and the application of fixings and thermal materials
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 Class 3 and J-STD-001 standards, with hand soldering experience
  • Experience with press-fit tooling design and deployment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using MRP/ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
  • Collaborative and self-motivated approach with experience mentoring, supporting, or developing others
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs
