Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this role you will join a multidisciplinary building services consultancy in Chichester to deliver mechanical design for commercial projects. You’ll apply BIM workflows using Revit MEP and AutoCAD from concept through completion, collaborating with engineers and designers to create coordinated solutions. You’ll drive design reviews, clash detection, and client engagement, while mentoring junior staff. Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building services (HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation)
• Create detailed mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, and reports
• Develop and coordinate Revit MEP models for mechanical services
• Produce 2D/3D drawings in AutoCAD
• Collaborate in a coordinated BIM model with other disciplines
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and clash detection
• Assist in developing building services solutions from concept to project completion
• Attend client meetings, design reviews, and site visits
• Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient delivery
• Mentor junior engineers

Key requirements

• Proven experience in Mechanical Building Services design
• HVAC design and specification expertise
• Proficiency in Revit MEP and BIM workflows
• Strong AutoCAD skills
• Experience in coordinated multidisciplinary design environments
• Desire to further develop technical expertise in Building Services
• Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and 3D modelling (advantageous)
