Overview

As an Investment Associate in the Private Equity team, you will help evaluate and execute private equity opportunities for MetLife’s portfolio. You’ll work with a 18-person team managing over $20B of assets, supporting primary fund commitments and equity co-investments. Your role focuses on due diligence, financial modeling, and prep work for investment decisions, with exposure to market research and performance monitoring. This position offers a chance to shape private markets investments within a large global insurer and leverage AI-enabled processes to boost efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate investment opportunities and due diligence to support decisions
  • Assess private equity fund opportunities and perform equity underwriting and risk assessment
  • Prepare investment memos and presentations for the investment committee
  • Monitor existing investments and provide regular performance updates
  • Sourcing and tracking new opportunities with external private equity sponsors
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends
  • Collaborate with team members to support the investment process
  • Maintain and update financial models and databases
  • Utilize approved AI tools to draft, summarize, organize information, and improve daily tasks

Key requirements

  • 3 to 4 years of financial services experience
  • 1–2 years in due diligence, selection, monitoring, and management of private equity fund investments and/or direct equity underwriting
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Proactive, detail-oriented with focus on performance and results
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of AI capabilities with ability to evaluate outputs with guidance
