Overview

As Principal Project Manager you will steer multi-disciplinary projects across the North, aligning teams, clients and suppliers to deliver high-profile outcomes. You will lead project management teams, ensure commercial success and budget control, and champion health and safety. You’ll mentor junior staff and represent the project to clients, driving delivery within a large consulting design context. Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of multi-disciplinary projects across the region
  • Act as PM team leader; advise and supervise PM teams, ops managers, clients and suppliers
  • Manage project budgets and costs to ensure commercial success
  • Oversee junior staff and ensure quality of deliverables
  • Liaise with client/supplier representatives and present proposals
  • Attend progress meetings and respond to queries
  • Act as people manager when required by business
  • Drive health and safety practices within the team
  • Be the main day-to-day PM contact when required under the commission

Key requirements

  • Experienced in project management with a background in health, safety and welfare management under IMS and CDM regulations
  • Ability to apply PM theory to complex/ambiguous situations
  • Proven ownership of deliverables and quality checks
  • Strong experience with project management software/tools
  • Excellent commercial awareness and supplier management
  • Excellent communication skills; capable of training peers and presenting to clients
  • Strong understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare regulations
  • Incorporated or Chartered status (ChPP) or equivalent; professional review or end point assessment completed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate subject
  • Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status or equivalent (or progress toward)
