Overview

In this role you will design life safety and security systems for advanced facilities, coordinating with engineers and design leads to deliver complex packages. You’ll work with AutoCAD and Revit MEP to create 3D BIM models and develop 2D/3D construction deliverables. Your work supports client facilities in sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing and data centers, focusing on compliant, scalable life safety solutions. This role offers leadership opportunities and cross-functional collaboration within Jacobs’ Global Integrated Delivery team.

Responsibilities

  • Design life safety and security systems for client facilities
  • Lead delivery of complex LSS packages in coordination with engineers and design leads
  • Interface with client counterparts during facility design
  • Create 2D and 3D construction deliverables using AutoCAD and Revit MEP
  • Perform calculations, determine equipment size and quantities, and prepare specifications
  • Develop network diagrams and addressing for life safety systems
  • Apply NFPA and industry standards across designs
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers in BIM model environments

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or sciences
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements
  • Knowledge of NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signalling Code
  • Knowledge of NFPA 400 Hazardous Materials Code
  • Familiar with IBC and NFPA 1 Fire Code related to LSS
  • Design experience with security, access control, intrusion detection and CCTV
  • Design experience with Fire Alarming, VESDA, HPM, and Leak Detection
  • Experience leading a team of LSS design staff
