P6 Planner / Planning Engineer – Rail

Overview

As a P6 Planner/Planning Engineer you will develop and report on Level 1–2 schedules for major infrastructure projects. You will support contract planning and reporting, and join project teams in planning sessions and progress meetings. You’ll manage milestone interfaces and ensure NEC process alignment, helping to keep programs on track and compliant. This role offers exposure to high‑impact infrastructure work within a global consultancy that values collaboration and delivery excellence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and report Level 1 and Level 2 schedules
• Support planning responsibilities for contract management and reporting
• Participate in project planning and progress meetings with project teams
• Identify and maintain programme milestones and schedule interfaces
• Support planning and scheduling processes to manage contracts and contractor schedules
• Maintain up-to-date schedule interface requirements and NEC contract data submissions
• Ensure awareness of commitments to avoid breaches in schedules

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in a construction related subject preferred
• Experience in planning and scheduling: development, control, and analysis, in field and office
• Strong oral and written communication
• Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software applications
• Proficiency with Primavera (P6) and Microsoft Office
• Intermediate knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management
