Overview
In this AVP role, you will define and drive the product strategy for quantitative investment technology across Ares’ global platform. You’ll bridge quantitative research with engineering, shaping workflows, data practices, and scalable tools. You’ll partner with investment teams to improve decision-making and extend quant capabilities across asset classes. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that embeds quantitative excellence into the firm’s broader investment technology agenda.
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the product strategy and roadmap for quantitative investment capabilities aligned with business priorities
- Translate quant group objectives into sequenced themes, outcomes, and shared vs. strategy-specific capabilities
- Make evidence-based build/buy/reuse/adapt/retire recommendations with engineering, architecture, and Data & AI
- Map end-to-end workflows across research, data acquisition, signal generation, portfolio construction, execution support, monitoring, and feedback
- Shape products for returns forecasting, liquidity/cash-flow management, hedging, risk-adjusted allocation, and monitoring
- Define data ingestion requirements for diverse datasets and enable knowledge transfer across the firm
- Champion a user-centric approach and drive adoption through measurable improvements in decision-making and value
- Coordinate with governance, data & AI, architecture, risk, operations, legal, compliance, and vendors, and represent priorities in cross-functional forums
Key requirements
- 5-8 years in product management, quantitative investing, investment technology, data products, or quantitative engineering in financial institutions
- Strong product management capabilities from discovery to launch and measurement
- Ability to simplify complex quantitative topics for senior stakeholders
- High ownership, judgment, curiosity, and comfort operating in a global, evolving product organization
