Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will deliver mechanical designs for water and wastewater facilities, overseeing packages from concept to construction. You will collaborate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable engineering solutions that improve asset performance. You’ll mentor junior engineers and support the delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to shapes UK water infrastructure within a leading multidisciplinary consultancy.

Responsibilities
- Produce mechanical designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and associated infrastructure
- Prepare and review technical calculations, equipment specifications and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with Project Managers, multidisciplinary teams and clients throughout project delivery
- Support technical reviews and identify opportunities to improve engineering solutions
- Provide guidance and mentoring to early career engineers and graduates
- Contribute to successful project delivery through effective communication with clients, contractors and stakeholders
Key requirements
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (CEng/IEng) or actively working towards
- Experience delivering mechanical engineering design within the UK water sector
- Good understanding of mechanical systems in water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Experience coordinating engineering activities as part of multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
