Overview

As a Senior Project Engineer you guide engineering deliverables and coordinate across disciplines to support project objectives. You may supervise project personnel, act as deputy PM at stages, and liaise between customers and the engineering team. You will help shape execution plans, manage interfaces, and ensure timely, compliant delivery of engineering work in the energy sector. This role offers impact through enabling complex offshore and onshore projects to progress safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate inputs across Engineering disciplines, departments, and subcontractors to deliver engineering portions of projects
  • Ensure generation and distribution of deliverables, reports, and procedures
  • Support Engineering project execution and planning, policies, and procedures
  • Solve complex problems using experience to identify innovative solutions
  • Manage time, forecast resources, and assist in planning small projects
  • Act as liaison between Customer, Project Engineering Manager, and Engineering Team
  • Assist in Engineering Project Execution Plan (PEP) preparation and work-sharing planning
  • Ensure scope of work clarity, no overlaps or gaps with subcontractors
  • Review project and fabrication schedules for alignment
  • Attend Engineering readiness reviews and weekly progress meetings
  • Coordinate with Design, Fabrication, Marine, and other functions for timely inputs
  • Maintain document control registers and proper distribution of documents
  • Log and resolve technical queries, maintain McDermott standards
  • Correspond with senior production and offshore engineers on progress and bottlenecks
  • Monitor KPIs, compile progress reports, and alert for corrective actions
  • Participate in safety, reliability studies, 3D model reviews, and constructability reviews
  • Travel to customer meetings, offices, fabrication yards, and offshore locations
  • Attend Technical Quality Audits as needed

Key requirements

  • Bachelor in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management
  • 5-8 years of engineering discipline experience with a major contractor or consultant
  • Good knowledge of discipline design techniques, analysis methods, and workflow
  • Preferably a registered professional engineer or member of a professional engineering society
  • Strong coordination and communication
