Overview

In this role you ensure environmental conditions are maintained for critical building systems, performing planned and reactive maintenance on M&E assets. You will fault-find on HVAC, UPS, generators and LV systems using alarms and graphical data, while coordinating with subcontractors and client representatives. You’ll manage safety processes, maintain accurate CMMS records, and support continuous improvements in plant performance. This position suits someone who thrives in a safety-conscious, service-led environment with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine PPM on all mechanical & electrical plant per site schedules and asset lists
  • Handle reactive/breakdown tasks and identify improvement opportunities
  • Supervise subcontractors and manage approvals and safety when on site
  • Operate Permit to Work and ensure compliance with BGIS QHSE and client requirements
  • Repair plant faults promptly and ensure spares and parts are available
  • Provide parts lists and time estimates for remedial works
  • Complete method statements and risk assessments for tasks
  • Build strong working relationships with BGIS staff, subcontractors and client reps
  • Maintain safe and healthy working environment and ensure PPE and uniform compliance
  • Manage documentation: reactive/breakdown work records and ticket closure in Maximo
  • Monitor and operate BMS to maintain acceptable internal environmental conditions
  • Proactively address safety (LOTO checks) and escalate non-compliance
  • Ensure KPI/SLA awareness and compliance, and close PPM/reactive tickets in Maximo
  • Oversee on-site engineering tasks, near-miss reporting and dynamic risk assessments
  • Support site management with additional tasks as directed
  • Promote a professional image and maintain clean, secured plant rooms
  • Attend to continuous improvement and coordination with client and BGIS teams
  • Support shift handover and ensure continuous operation of critical systems

Key requirements

  • Knowledge of air conditioning, UPS, generators and LV systems
  • Ability to fault-find using alarms and graphical information
  • Experience with CMMS (Maximo) and BMS systems
  • Ability to manage permits to work and safety procedures
  • Experience supervising subcontractors and ensuring quality and safety compliance
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients and teams
  • Awareness of H&S and risk assessments
  • Willingness to work continental 12-hour shifts and on-site presence
