Cost Manager (NRM1)

Overview

In this role you drive cost management and estimating across a major health programme, shaping financial controls for hospital delivery. You will collaborate with cross-functional scheme leads and Trusts to maintain cost baselines and enable informed commercial decisions. You’ll apply NRM1/2 to produce robust cost plans and support risk management and governance. This is a mission-driven opportunity to help modernise UK healthcare infrastructure at scale.

Responsibilities

• Provide cost management and estimating expertise across Precontract, Post Contract, and risk functions
• Support scheme delivery to maintain the approved cost baseline and perform cost assurance
• Lead or participate in risk review and verification of data to drive commercial clarity
• Adopt and promote client tools and processes to improve cost performance and reporting
• Deliver cost analysis and reporting to support commercial decision making
• Contribute to change control with cost assessments of changes
• Engage with Trusts, Cost Consultants, and Contractors to maintain robust cost management and reporting
• Support client governance and business case review with inputs on cost status and reporting
• Mentor and collaborate with regional teams to share guidance and best practices

Key requirements

• Experience using NRM1/2 across projects of varying scale
• Technical qualification with track record in delivering major projects and programmes
• Strong client-focused approach with excellent stakeholder management
• Working towards or holding an applicable professional qualification
• Experience in construction consultancy, healthcare/life science projects, or digital project management software is advantageous
