In this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, you will lead project commercial teams on high-profile, technically complex projects across multiple sectors. You’ll own pre- and post-contract strategies, ensure compliance and value delivery, and drive commercial viability with customers and specialists. You’ll shape cost reporting, procurement, and final accounts to maintain cashflow and progress. Responsibilities
- Lead the project commercial team and ensure compliance with Wates Main Contract obligations
- Oversee procurement, sub-contract orders, and supply chain management
- Manage measurements, valuations, contractual notices, and change valuation
- Prepare and submit monthly cost reports and progress reports, and develop tender strategies
- Agree external valuations and manage project cashflow
- Produce and agree main and subcontract final accounts
- Operate DBS checks as required at offer stage
- Collaborate with customers and industry specialists to add value and ensure best practices
Key requirements
- Experience leading project commercial teams in construction
- Strong knowledge of procurement, subcontracting, and valuations
- Ability to manage cost reporting, progress reporting, and tender strategies
- Experience in agreeing valuations, change and final accounts
- Commercially astute with focus on cashflow and robustness
