Overview

In this role you support delivery of large-scale power transmission projects by focusing on safety, risk management, and effective project controls. You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with H&S requirements and contractual obligations. You’ll help optimize procurement, subcontractor management, and change control to keep projects on track. This is a hands-on position that combines safety leadership with practical project delivery, offering impact at scale and in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Attend project reviews and maintain project records (progress, diaries)
  • Prepare internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
  • Ensure reports support informed, cost-effective decisions aligned with strategy
  • Manage safety documentation and RAMS; write and understand RAMS
  • Identify, raise and report risks and hazards; support incident responses
  • Oversee subcontractor management, attendance, progress, and contractor instruction
  • Assist procurement planning to meet schedules and resources
  • Monitor H&S management system and drive improvements
  • Support continuous improvement workshops and KPI tracking
  • Escalate issues beyond delegated authority; support escalation of commercial changes
  • Manage safety and environment tours, promote observations and safety initiatives
  • Contribute to audits and assurance activities
  • Ensure alignment with targets/kpis and commercial awareness
  • Support setting up work for personnel and allocate resources

Key requirements

  • Experience implementing safe systems of work
  • Experience managing risks and change processes
  • Good understanding of standard forms of contracts
  • Proficient in commercial/project management communications
  • Effective written and verbal communication across all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration and negotiation

  • Holds or is working towards a formal qualification in construction/engineering or equivalent
