Overview

In this role you drive detailed design of marine onshore infrastructure for ports, terminals, and waterfront developments, partnering with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions. You will engage with clients and stakeholders to shape design packages for planning, tender, and construction phases. The position offers international exposure and opportunities to contribute to coastal infrastructure projects that shape coastlines. You will apply engineering best practices, QA processes, and BIM workflows to enable constructible designs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support detailed design of marine onshore infrastructure including access roads, grading plans, stormwater systems, and utility networks
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports using industry-standard design software
  • Develop design packages for planning approvals, tender documentation, and construction
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines (structural, geotechnical, coastal, electrical) and external consultants to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions
  • Interface with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical input during design phases
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments including topographic, hydrologic, and geotechnical analysis
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks, including port authority and environmental requirements
  • Support QA/QC processes and contribute to internal design reviews
  • Assist in preparing cost estimates and design schedules
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development across the team

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in civil infrastructure design, ideally within a consultancy and marine/port environment
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and drainage design tools
  • Proven ability to manage design deliverables across multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Chartered status or working toward chartership with ICE or equivalent body
  • Clear communication with clients and team members
  • Strong collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
  • Mentoring and technical development of junior engineers
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D – grading, alignment, utility design
  • MicroDrainage / InfoDrainage – stormwater modeling
  • HEC-RAS / HEC-HMS – hydrologic and hydraulic analysis
