Overview

As a Clinical Specialist at Google Health, you apply youth mental health expertise to plan and execute cross-product initiatives. You’ll evaluate AI model performance for safety and quality in mental health applications, collaborating with product management, testing, and safety teams. You identify evidence-based practices to influence product development and drive youth wellbeing initiatives across business areas. You work with sensitive content and scale impact through cross-functional partnerships, shaping health-focused tools and journeys.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute youth wellbeing projects across product areas
  • Apply methodologies to evaluate AI model performance in mental health safety and quality
  • Identify evidence-based practices for youth wellbeing to inform product development
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, design, engineering, regulatory, and research teams
  • Work with sensitive content and handle potentially upsetting material
  • shape content, design, and execution of health-related products by leveraging clinical expertise
  • contribute to global health outcomes through scalable health journeys
  • emerge as a clinical subject-matter expert for suicide prevention and safety-related concerns

Key requirements

  • Doctoral degree in a clinical field (e.g. MD, PsyD, PhD) or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of clinical experience (including training) after Doctoral degree
  • 3 years of experience in suicide prevention (hotlines or clinical work)
  • 1 year of experience with evaluation of AI products or digital health product development
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • People management abilities
  • Cross-functional collaboration
  • Experience evaluating AI products or digital health products
  • Knowledge of safety approaches in generative AI
  • Experience with health product development and regulatory considerations
