Overview

In this role you will lead Communications for Checkout.com’s high-growth environment, shaping both owned and earned channels to advance business goals. You will manage media relations, press office activities, and analyst/influencer engagement, while guiding multi-channel campaigns and AI-assisted productivity. You’ll collaborate with senior stakeholders to craft pivotal messaging and ensure timely, high-quality outputs. The role offers impact across global fintech narratives and awards opportunities in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and write content for owned channels aligned to specific audiences and business goals
  • Identify compelling stories, cultivate media relationships, and secure coverage across trophy, business, and tech press
  • Run press office operations: inbound management, interview coordination, SLA adherence, media relationships
  • Support analyst and influencer relations to elevate fintech and payments narratives
  • Manage multi-channel projects with deadlines, from press moments to campaigns and reactive briefs
  • Utilize AI tools to accelerate output while ensuring quality through human review
  • Identify opportunities for awards, craft submissions, and manage the awards calendar
  • Track performance and insights to refine future communications strategy

Key requirements

  • 8-10 years in communications, preferably in high-growth tech/fintech/startup environments
  • In-house experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of placing stories in media
  • Strong writing across formats: press releases, pitches, briefing docs, social copy
  • Comfortable engaging with journalists, analysts, and influencers and building lasting relationships
  • Operationally sharp: tight press office, multiple workstreams, strict deadlines
  • Self-starting and resilient; able to navigate ambiguity
