Pre-Sales – Lead Designer – Smart Buildings – Security

Overview

In this role you drive Smart Building proposals from initial enquiry to contract award, shaping design, costing and technical responses. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure client requirements are met and handover to delivery is seamless. You’ll lead design and estimation efforts across MSI, IoT, ICT cabling, networks, security and AV, influencing multi-sector projects. Responsibilities

• Lead and support allocated opportunities through bid and pre-construction phases for Smart Building solutions
• Manage scoping, design, costing and proposal development to meet client requirements
• Provide technical and commercial input post-award to ensure compliance and smooth handover to delivery teams
• Oversee the full lifecycle from enquiry to contract award and post-award pre-construction activities
• Contribute to bid analysis, costing, and financial reporting; support large multi-technology projects
• Manage vendor relationships and maintain strong product knowledge
• Analyse project costing spreadsheets and support tendering and variations processes

Key requirements

• Proven experience designing Smart Building solutions across multiple sectors
• Strong knowledge of MSI, IoT, ICT cabling, networking, security, and AV systems
• Experience delivering large, multi-technology projects within construction environments
• Strong commercial awareness, including bid analysis, costing, and financial reporting
• Understanding of pre-construction processes including technical submittals, RFIs, change control, and variations
• Ability to produce and analyse project costing spreadsheets (.xlsx)
• Strong vendor management and product knowledge
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
