Linux Systems Engineer – Trading

Overview

As a Linux Systems Engineer in a high-profile trading environment, you will design and support highly available Linux estates across a modern tech stack. You’ll work alongside a senior Linux administrator to support production systems and participate in projects, driving personal and technical growth. The role blends hands-on administration with continuous improvement in a fast-paced finance setting. You’ll engage with cutting-edge tools and CI/CD to enable reliable trading operations.

Responsibilities

• Support developers and production environments
• Maintain, patch and configure Linux systems
• Install and configure Linux OS and applications
• Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
• Troubleshoot application, system and network issues; diagnose hardware/software faults
• Provide procedural documentation and reports
• R&D into new technologies and processes

Key requirements

• Strong Linux systems administration experience (SUSE or Red Hat preferred; Ubuntu/Debian welcome)
• Strong analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Command line administration via SSH, scripting (bash/python), pipelines, standard Linux/UNIX tools
