Overview

In this role you will act as the main liaison between HVAC design teams and construction crews to ensure accurate designs and compliant outputs. You will assess technical requirements, review contractor documents, and support system integration and commissioning within a nuclear engineering context. You’ll contribute to risk assessments and change management while collaborating across disciplines to deliver safe, on‑spec HVAC solutions. This position offers exposure to complex infrastructure projects and opportunities for growth through ongoing training and internal advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between HVAC design teams and construction/installation teams
  • Develop and review HVAC designs; verify specifications and outputs
  • Perform technical assessments for standards compliance
  • Review and validate contractor documentation, drawings, method statements, and test plans
  • Support integration of HVAC with mechanical, electrical, and building services designs
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and multidisciplinary reviews
  • Contribute to risk assessments, hazard reviews, and safety evaluations
  • Support commissioning activities to ensure design intent
  • Provide engineering input for change management and configuration control
  • Maintain communication with project managers, quality teams, and other disciplines

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
  • 3–5 years of relevant HVAC design or building services experience
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, CIBSE, ISO, local regulations)
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents
  • Experience working with contractors, site teams, and multidisciplinary groups
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience in regulated industries or large infrastructure projects is advantageous
