Overview

As Senior Planner in Murphy’s Transport team, you will develop and communicate robust project plans that align with company standards and drive successful delivery. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to shape scope, schedules, and risk responses for large-scale civil and rail projects. Your planning leadership will support tendering, bid execution, and handover activities, enabling safe, on-time project outcomes. Responsibilities

  • Establish health, safety and environmental best practices with SHQE
  • Consolidate information to communicate work scope clearly
  • Prepare resourced programmes and check conformance with requirements
  • Contribute to the risk register and perform risk analysis of programmes
  • Create visual material to support planned methods
  • Develop resource schedules for reviews
  • Coach and train colleagues and support knowledge transfer
  • Draw up bid preparation programme and maintain tender queries database
  • Define methods and establish competitive outputs with estimator and supply chain
  • Prepare written submission materials and participate in bid reviews
  • Attend handover meetings to clarify work scope and deliverables
  • Advise project team on required feedback reports in consultation with Estimator

Key requirements

  • Relevant Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Planning and Project Controls experience in Construction and Engineering
  • Extensive experience of civil engineering contracting in rail and civil sectors
  • Experience with planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery
  • Understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with planning
  • Computer literate with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project skills
  • Collaborative mindset
