Overview
As Senior Commercial Manager, you will shape and execute the commercial strategy to win UK defence campaigns, aligning with Campaign Leads, Finance, and leadership. You will own negotiations with defence partners, manage MoD-aligned tender processes, and translate complex procurement needs into actionable plans. Your work will bridge government and industry, guiding cross-functional teams toward mission-aligned outcomes. This role offers high-impact work at the intersection of ethics, technology, and national security.

Responsibilities
- Develop and own a commercial strategy for active UK defence campaigns in collaboration with Campaign Leads, Finance, and leadership
- Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations with defence partners and suppliers to protect Helsing’s interests and accelerate delivery
- Manage UK defence tender processes from initiation to award, ensuring compliance with MoD frameworks and internal governance
- Provide commercial guidance across cross-functional teams, translating procurement requirements into actionable decisions
- Monitor the UK defence commercial landscape, identifying opportunities and risks to inform campaign and growth strategy
Key requirements
- Built and led commercial strategies within the UK defence sector with direct MoD tendering experience
- Has held a commercial role within or alongside a UK defence procurement agency (e.g., DE&S or SDA)
- Led complex, multi-stakeholder commercial negotiations with tangible outcomes
- Able to operate across government and industry environments and tailor communication to different audiences
- Translate broad campaign objectives into structured commercial plans aligning finance, legal, and operations
