Overview

In this role you will maintain and embed NEP’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, guiding leaders in identifying and mitigating risks to support strategic decisions. You will partner with Internal Audit to align risk and assurance activities and promote a strong risk culture across the organization. This position sits at the heart of NEP’s transformation in the UK energy landscape, enabling safe delivery of a first-of-its-kind CO2 transport and storage project. You will work with cross-functional teams to enhance risk visibility and drive practical improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Develop and maintain corporate and functional risk registers
  • Facilitate risk assessments, workshops and reviews
  • Challenge risk owners and support management of risks and controls
  • Monitor emerging risks and changing exposures
  • Develop and maintain risk indicators and dashboards
  • Produce risk reports and support governance committees
  • Analyse risk trends and provide insights on drivers and control effectiveness
  • Promote risk awareness and deliver training across NEP
  • Embed risk management into planning and decision-making processes
  • Develop risk procedures and supporting documentation
  • Support annual assurance plan and align audit plans with key risks
  • Assist audit activities and provide cover for routine administration during absences

Key requirements

  • Strong enterprise risk management knowledge and framework experience
  • Analytical problem-solving and mitigation development
  • Clear communication and influencing skills
  • Stakeholder management across NEP, shareholders, service providers and contractors
  • Facilitation and collaboration in risk workshops
  • Planning and organization to manage multiple priorities
  • Commercial and business awareness in complex infrastructure
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Degree-level education or equivalent practical experience in risk management or related fields
  • Experience with Omega 365 Risk Module
  • 3–5 years in risk management or governance roles
  • Experience in energy, infrastructure or regulated sectors
