Overview
In this role you will lead commercial and procurement activities for a portfolio of infrastructure projects, ensuring robust cost control and effective contract administration. You will manage NEC3/NEC4 contracts, support biodiversity net gain and compensatory planting initiatives, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver major capital programmes. The role combines pre- and post-contract commercial management with stakeholder engagement to drive value and delivery excellence. This is a growth-focused position in a Glasgow team that shapes commercial solutions for complex projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre- and post-contract commercial support across projects and programmes
- Administer NEC3/NEC4 contracts and manage performance, changes, and final accounts
- Lead procurement activities from market engagement to contract award and close-out
- Develop procurement strategies delivering value for money and project objectives
- Support biodiversity net gain and compensatory planting initiatives within the portfolio
- Maintain accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and financial reports; present to senior management
- Negotiate land agreements and manage commercial terms with landowners
- Stakeholder management with Project Managers, Procurement & Commercial Managers, and external stakeholders
- Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, governance, and sustainability performance
Key requirements
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing contracts on capital projects or programmes valued 5m–100m+
- Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 and practical application
