Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (MEP)

Overview

In this role you will lead and deliver multidisciplinary MEP projects for a growing Building Services team. You’ll engage clients and guide project teams, delivering high-quality mechanical design from concept to detailed design using BIM-enabled workflows. You’ll mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvement, maintaining a strong focus on sustainability and collaboration. Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion, including team, deliverables, resourcing, programme and budget management
• Develop and oversee mechanical concepts and detailed design solutions; produce required design calculations
• Coordinate with internal and external design teams; maintain client engagement and ensure value delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and support chartership routes
• Contribute to innovation, process improvement and technical excellence initiatives
• Support resource planning, line management and quality assurance within the team

Key requirements

• Proven background in Building Services design from a consultancy
• Experience across multiple sectors with healthcare and/or education preferred
• Proficiency with BIM processes, including Revit and IES
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Strong communication and ownership, collaborative and client-facing demeanor
