Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview

Senior Electrical Engineer role within a growing building services consultancy in the North West. You will lead electrical design across residential and commercial projects, engaging clients and guiding junior engineers. The role blends hands-on design with project leadership in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that values sustainability and BIM support. You will help shape energy-efficient, low-carbon solutions while driving growth of the electrical team.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on multiple projects
• Produce and review designs for lighting, power, LV distribution, fire alarm and emergency systems
• Perform electrical calculations and ensure regulatory compliance
• Support projects through the Building Safety Regulator gateway process where required
• Attend client meetings and design team workshops
• Collaborate with sustainability specialists to develop energy-efficient and low-carbon solutions
• Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers
• Support the ongoing growth and development of the electrical team

Key requirements

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or related discipline
• Extensive experience in a Building Services Consultancy
• Proven experience delivering residential and commercial projects
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services design
• Experience using Amtech, Electrical OM or equivalent
• Understanding of current Building Regulations and Building Safety Act framework
• Knowledge of sustainable building design principles and energy-efficient systems
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Mentoring or leading engineers would be advantageous
• Chartered status, or progression towards chartership, would be beneficial
