Overview
In this role you will lead the planning and scheduling for a large UK water sector capital programme, acting as the bridge between the area delivery team and the client. You drive delivery through robust planning, risk assessment, and performance monitoring, while guiding multi-disciplinary teams to meet safety, quality, and financial targets. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to shape programme environments and ensure sustainable, compliant delivery aligned with the client’s strategy. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused position in a hybrid, on-site setting.

Responsibilities
- Plan and lead delivery of medium/high complexity programmes and projects
- Interface between area delivery team and client at senior level; manage internal and external stakeholders
- Implement and monitor programme delivery environments (people, organisation, process, information, technology)
- Lead and develop a team delivering planning/schedule management services; ensure timely and profitable delivery
- Provide expert advice on planning/scheduling methods, tools, and data management
- Create, validate, and maintain schedule inputs and reports; analyse trends and provide concise commentary
- Contribute to proposal development, client presentations, and business development
- Mentor and develop talent; oversee planning managers and assistants as needed
Key requirements
- Primavera P6 project planner experience on large-scale civil engineering/infrastructure projects
- Excellent written communication; clear and concise reporting
- In-depth knowledge of schedule management tools and software
- Proven experience in planning techniques across multi-disciplinary sectors
- Degree in construction/engineering or equivalent
- Digitally savvy; capable of building client relationships and leading teams
- Experience managing relationships with senior stakeholders
