Commercial Finance Manager

Overview

In this role you support the Commercial Operations team by overseeing financial and contractual aspects of sponsor projects, bidding processes, and pricing for clinical trials. You will analyze financial performance, manage client inquiries, and help shape study metrics, contributing to Medpace’s mission to accelerate safe, effective therapeutics. The position offers growth through cross-functional collaboration and potential supervision of Account Analysts. This is an office-based, full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage bids for new business
• Oversee financial and contractual performance of Sponsor projects
• Maintain strong customer relationships during ongoing clinical trials
• Perform financial analysis and reporting
• Oversee client requests for proposals (RFPs)
• Develop change-in-scope documents for ongoing trials
• Customize pricing according to client requirements
• Develop study metrics
• Possibly supervise Account Analysts

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting or medicine, health and life sciences
• 5 years of experience in clinical research and/or contract management/pricing
• Strong working knowledge of financial and accounting processes
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and working knowledge of drug development services
• Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
• Excellent computer skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Past supervisory experience preferred
