Overview
In this role, you apply hydrogeology expertise to understand contaminant movement and groundwater systems, supporting clients and regulators with clear risk assessments and modelling outputs. You will work across contaminated land, hydrogeology, groundwater modelling and ground engineering within a collaborative Energy and Resources team. Your work spans field design, monitoring, interpretation, modelling and reporting to inform remediation and regulatory decisions. Responsibilities
- Design field investigations and groundwater monitoring plans
- Perform hydrogeological interpretation and risk assessments
- Develop and apply conceptual site models for soil, groundwater, surface water and ground gas
- Contribute to groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling (numerical and analytical)
- Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to clients and regulators
- Mentor junior colleagues and support team growth
- Travel to UK offices and project sites as required
Key requirements
- Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or related discipline
- MSc or PhD preferred but not essential
- Experience in hydrogeology, contaminated land assessment, groundwater risk assessment or environmental consultancy
- Experience with conceptual site model development, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modelling, ground investigation design, and data consolidation
