Overview
As a Consents Advisor at Assystem, you support environmental planning and delivery across major infrastructure programmes. You coordinate consents, commitments and regulatory interfaces to ensure DCO compliance and timely milestones. You work with multidisciplinary teams to maintain registers, prepare applications and manage post-consent activities. You help identify and escalate risks, ensuring governance and IMS compliance. This role offers ongoing opportunities to contribute to high-impact infrastructure projects and the energy transition mission.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver project consents in line with DCOs and statutory frameworks
- Maintain Consents and Commitments Registers and track commitments
- Prepare applications, approvals, appraisals, reports and technical documentation
- Support post-consent activities including discharge of requirements and certification
- Monitor consented scope and flag deviations to project management
- Apply knowledge of planning, environmental and infrastructure legislation
- Ensure outputs align with statutory requirements, industry standards and client governance
- Support Information Management System (IMS) procedures and controls
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver work packages on schedule and budget
- Track deliverables against milestones and identify risks and escalate as needed
- Support stakeholder engagement and technical coordination with internal and external partners
- Contribute to meetings and ensure clear communication of information
- Produce high-quality, well-structured documentation and ensure governance and security compliance
Key requirements
- Minimum two years’ post-graduate experience in consents, planning, environmental management or infrastructure delivery
- Experience working within major infrastructure or construction projects
- Experience supporting delivery under DCO, Town and Country Planning Act, Highways Act or similar frameworks
- Experience tracking deliverables within a wider programme environment
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
